Joseph Gordon-Levitt Replacing James McAvoy In

Summit Entertainment has recast Joseph Gordon-Levitt opposite Seth Rogen in their upcoming comedy "I'm With Cancer," with James McAvoy's blessing. The "(500) Days of Summer" star is stepping into the role of a cancer patient after the "Wanted" actor left it due to "unrelated circumstances beyond his control."

Just last month, Summit announced the casting of McAvoy and Rogen in the film, which is about a young man who learns he has cancer.

But on Tuesday, the production company announced that McAvoy left the film.

Rogen, who also acts as a producer on the film, said in a statement obtained by Variety, "It's incredibly unfortunate that circumstances outside of everyone's control have taken James away from the project, but, with James' blessing, we were able to have Joseph step in to take on the role of Adam."

"We all look forward to working with James in the future."

"The Wackness" director Jonathan Levine will helm from the script written by Will Reiser. Also starring are Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard, Anjelica Huston, and Philip Baker Hall. icelebz
